Peace: emotional level. If we really are what we are, in thoughts, words and actions, then we are in absolute harmony with our Self and our environment. This is equanimity. It is like the depth of the ocean, always quiet (you observe as a witness). Peace is divine love in emotions. |
Non-violence: this value spontaneously results from the earlier values, namely no harming in thoughts, words and actions. Non-violence is the character of the human being, is the human being on a spiritual level. Baba says: "Character is the end of education and is the unity in thoughts, words and actions!" |
Love is the main key! God is love. Love is God. Man can only become aware of this love if he is in a complete harmony with himself; the profound peace which is a result of "being" or "truth in action". Man is no longer separated from God. Baba says: "Start the day with love, fill the day with love, end the day with love, that is the way to God." Love is the underlying stream of all the human values. Without love they can't be experienced. |
Truth: Which truth? You have one, she has another and even he has another one! Today true, tomorrow untrue! Truth is the realisation of the "being", the divine spark inside, the spirit of the whole creation, the reality behind all changeable and temporary things. Truth is divine love in thoughts and words. Truth becomes our intuition. Truth becomes conscious through "action" (=karma). Truth can only be realised without attachment, otherwise it is no truth! |
Just as when the five fingers are together they lead to strength, in the same way when the five Human Values are joined together there is true Dharma. It results in co-operation, not operation. It results in unity, which is true human life and the real goal. It ensures Divinity. Divine
Discourse, |
All our miseries result from the lack of application of Human Values in everyday life. We should develop Human Values and experience Peace, and for thsi Truth and Compassion are essential, but only Love unites all the Human Values as one. If we have Love and Oneness all can live as brothers. Human Values came out of the heart. Divine
Discourse, |
Right action: Truth in action is "right action". If we want the fruits of our actions, we develop attachment. We also experience the reaction "As you sow, so shall you reap." This is the law of karma! If we realise the truth in ourselves, namely that we are all a divine spark, how can we hurt another person or act badly! "Love your neighbour as yourself". Right action is divine love in action! |
